STRICTO SENSU - MASTER AND DOCTORATE IN PHYSICS
The Graduate Program (PPG) in Physics at the Physics Institute of UFF (IF-UFF) offers masters and doctoral courses in physics, with a broad spectrum of lines of research in theoretical and experimental areas. The PPG is well consolidated, with performance of an international standard in the CAPES assessment.
Among the strengths of the Course, we highlight the high scientific productivity of students and teachers, as well as the performance of teachers in both undergraduate and graduate education. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in research activities in the experimental area as a result of an effort to balance the proportion between theoretical and experimental research carried out within the scope of the Course. The Course has a history of more than 40 years, arising in 1976 with the Master's program, six years after the implementation of the Bachelor and Physics courses in Physics at UFF. In 1985, the doctoral program began, then restricted to the area. The Postgraduate Program (PPG) in Physics at the UFF Physics Institute (IF-UFF) offers masters and doctorate courses in physics, with a broad spectrum of lines of research in theoretical and experimental areas. The PPG is well consolidated, with performance of an international standard in the evaluation of CAPES.
In the four-year evaluation carried out by CAPES, the current grade of the Course is 6 (out of a maximum of 7). This reflects the quality of the Course, placing it among the participants of CAPES 'PROEX excellence program. Participation in this program has contributed to improving support for teaching and research activities linked to graduate studies.
