I have a degree in Physics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1987), having obtained the mention CUM LAUDE. I completed a master's degree in physics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1990) and a doctorate in physics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1994). From 1994 to 1996 I did a post-doctorate at the Physics Department of the Federal University of Pernambuco in the area of ​​Chaos in Lasers. From 1996 to 1998 I did a post-doctorate at Laboratoire Kastler Brossel (Ecole Normale Superieur - France) in the area of ​​Quantum Optics in Cold Atoms and Laser Diodes. I am currently Full Professor at Universidade Federal Fluminense, Researcher 1C from CNPq and Scientist from Nosso Estado at FAPERJ. I have experience in Physics, with an emphasis on Optics and Quantum Information, working mainly on the following topics: quantum noise in optical systems, parametric downward conversion, formation of patterns and optical vortices.
